Our Vision
Christ Central was born from a vision to see lives changed as Christ becomes central in our community and compassion for Southern California and the world.
Triune God
There is one God, who exists eternally in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three Persons of the Holy Trinity are the same in substance and equal in power and glory.
HUMANITY
We believe that God created human beings, male and female, in his own glorious image. In God’s purposes, men and women are equal and distinct; not simply interchangeable, but rather complement each other in mutually enriching ways.
But Adam distorted the image of God and forfeited his original blessedness—for himself and all his progeny—by falling into sin through Satan’s temptation. As a result, all human beings are alienated from God, corrupted in every aspect, and condemned finally and irrevocably to death under His just and holy wrath —apart from God’s own sovereign, loving and gracious salvation.
THE SCRIPTURES
We accept the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, as the written, inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God in the original manuscripts. The Bible is authoritative in all matters of faith and practice and sufficiently teaches what we must believe about God and what God requires of us.
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, the eternal Word made flesh, fully God and fully man, the image of the invisible God, and the only Savior of sinners. Through his perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection, Jesus atoned for the sins of all who trust in him for salvation. Jesus will one day return in bodily, visible form to judge the world, gather his people, and make all things new.
SALVATION
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a saving grace based on the Father's sovereign choice not by our merit or foreseen faith, by which we receive, rely, and rest on Jesus alone for salvation as he is freely offered to us in the Gospel. By placing our faith in Jesus, we are born again into newness of life and now live to joyfully follow him, obey him, and be conformed to him. We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit regenerates (converts) individuals by convicting them of God’s holy standard and their personal sin, leading them to repentance, and guiding them to hope and saving faith in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and applies the benefits of the Gospel to the believer by giving them strength and wisdom to follow Jesus, sealing them for the day of redemption that they might be assured of salvation, and equipping them with spiritual gifts for the building up of the church body.
THE RETURN AND RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS
We believe in the personal, glorious and bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ as both Savior and Judge over all. And we believe in the bodily resurrection of both the just and the unjust. God will be all in all “for from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36)
